Creation Myth:
In the beginning there were Eight Primordials, each one opposed each other in the primordial sea of chaos, a dark void preceding creation. It was interrupted when the primordial of the All the opposite of Oblivion and Sibling to Life, Death, Hope, Despair, Luck, and Destiny, decided to split itself in two in order to create something new in a contest with his opposing twin, Oblivion. Oblivion created 28 "Children of the Void" often called the Nul-Kin or the Lords of Emptiness, or just Empty Ones. All, with the help of the other six primordials aided the All to split itself in two, these would become the All Father or Father Time and the All Mother or Mother Life, The split had created a new dimensional space separated from the void, the astral, originally consisting of an infinite sea and an infinite starless sky with a deep purple glow, the all mother and all father sculpted an island from the firmament of the astral separating it from the void, they had birthed an egg on that island, nurtured it, and it hatched. The hatch rewrote the rules of the astral and a new infinite realm opens up, a world tree grows on the central mountain of the gods, the island now a landmass in the astral sea, one side is an infernal landscape, the other a paradise of the dead, a city was built at the base of the world tree, with whole realities as it's leaves and flowers of life gifting new souls to these realities. And then the First Generation of Gods called Shining Ones were born, Father Daylit Sky, Mother Night, Mother Earth, Father Death, Father Darkness, Mother Light, Mother Sea, and Father Abyss. From Father Daylit Sky and Mother Night: Sister Sun, Brother Moon, Daughter Dawn, Daughter Stars, Son Morning, and Son Evening. From Father Daylit Sky and Mother Earth: Sister Beloved, Sister Hearth, Brother Law, Brother Storms, Sister Snow, Sister Nature, Brother Beasts, Cousin Fire. From Mother Night and Father Darkness: Brother Sleep, Sister Dreams, and The Three Fates. From Mother Earth and Father Darkness: (TBD). From Mother Sea and Father Daylit Sky: Brother Wind and Sister Rain. In addition to these ancient deities many other spirits were born, Dragons, Fae, and Jinn. Finally Mortal souls were created from the world soul, the web of consciousness energy that ties everything together, the sources of magic, through the flowers of life on the world tree. The city of the Shining Ones or City of Heaven, divided into 8 sections surrounding a central sacred grove at the base of the world tree, sits atop the mountain. The base of the mountain was surrounded by multiple otherworld realms of the dead, The Blessed Isles, The Meadows of Paradise, The Swamps of Regret, and The Fields of Reckoning.
The First Age:
The First Age began when the first Sapient races evolved, the first ones to evolve with the Draconians, Kobolds, and Tengu. Next were the Archaic Common Ancestors to Elves and Dwarves. Then the Archaic Human Ancestors. Then finally the Goblins and Orcs.
The Second Age:
The second age is when sapient species diversified. The Ancestors to Elves and Dwarves split into the groups of High Elves, Night Elves, and Dwarves. The Ancestors to Humans diversified into Giants, Halflings, Oni, and Humans. At some point a mutagenic retrovirus hit a group of vulnerable humans, mutating them with beast-like placental mammalian traits, giving them ears and in many cases tails of their respective animal genes in place of human ears and no tail at all. These are the Beastkin, originating as human mutants during the second age. They not only have some beast-like animal features and abilities, they can also shapeshift into a hybrid man-beast form or full beast form at will. The second age also is what led to the founding of some of the first civilizations now forgotten to time. The civilizations of this time were largely dominated by the Draconians, High Elves, Dwarves, and Tengu as Giants, Oni, Halflings, Beastkin, and Humans preferred pastoral nomadic or semi-sedentary/seasonal nomadic lives still by this time. Unfortunately many of these nomadic/semi-nomadic peoples, especially Beastkin, Humans, and Night Elves were often enslaved. This would change drastically in the Third Age.
The Third Age:
The third age is marked by the ongoing rise of ancient civilizations, culminating in the founding of the Twelve Kingdoms of Atlantis. The beginning of the third age started with massive uprisings and rebellions led by various enslaved races and abolitionist allies, leading to the fall of the earliest civilizations replacing them. New civilizations flourished and prospered. The third age would come to an end as the combination of Magic and Technology became abused and ancient wars tore these ancient nations apart, resulting in a global cataclysm of war and subsequent collapse of all civilizations resulting in a dark age transition into the early fourth age often called the shadow of civilization.
The Fourth Age:
The Current Age is the Fourth Age, Beginning with the later half of the shadow of civilization. The first half of the Fourth Age is marked by sapients re-learning everything from scratch and rebuilding. But gradually doing so much quicker than the previous Ages. It is currently the twilight of the Fourth Age characterized by imbalance and the iniquities caused by imbalance, slow incursions of Empty Ones, the Forces of Oblivion alongside "voidic wounds" forming and corrupting individuals. Unusual ruins also discovered on the neighboring planet of Ares indicate the planet was once inhabited, although now it is a vast semi-arid to arid planet with shallow oceans and no sapient inhabitants.
The Fifth Age:
Prophesized for the future, it will be marked by the arrival of an "unprecidented otherworldly threat to all life on Gaia" and it's subsequent defeat. The peoples of Gaia will come together and unify, voyaging to the moon, the stars, and beyond.
