I came to pass

Author: Streak | Genres:Poetry | Rating: G - General Audiences

This is one of the first poems I ever wrote....I write this while in the 9th grade. We had an English assignment to write a poem, at the time I really hadn't written anything before...I worked for a grocery store called "Winn Dixie" at the time. While mopping the floors I composed this and forced myself to remember it so I could hand write it down later...after all of these years I still remember it by heart.

I was sitting on a log, staring at the sun
Wondering what, the hell I had done
When all at once — right before my eyes
I see two little foxes playing side-by-side

It was such a beautiful sight;
Oh, don't you know
It made me remember, the path to go

So I got up and promptly said
Thank you sir and thank you ma'am
They looked at each other and laughed;
And said — Don't thank us, for it was you who came to pass
